Peter FitzGerald’s extensive leadership experience in large and complex organisations is complemented by his specialist knowledge in general management, marketing and sales, strategy development and delivery, and success in implementing culture change programs for a number of blue-chip businesses.

Before establishing Executive Empowerment, Peter had over 30 years management and leadership experience - with the majority of that time spent in executive leadership roles. He worked as General Manager for a large national organisation, responsible for overseeing the marketing and sales aspects of its transition from a government entity to a thriving publicly listed company. Before this role, he spent a large part of his career in various executive positions for an international petroleum company, including leadership roles in Japan, the Middle East, the UK and Australia. During his career Peter has managed teams ranging from small groups of specialists through to general management of diverse teams situated both nationally and internationally. This experience has equipped Peter with considerable understanding of the issues facing leaders in any context, including experience in the technical side of management (with responsibility for budgets, policy development, strategy development, etc.) and in the most challenging areas of all – managing and leading people.
He is a National Director of Personal Empowerment Pty. Ltd. (trading as Executive Empowerment) and heads up the Company’s operations.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Marketing and an Applied Science Diploma in Computing. He is a Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program, and of the Australian Institute of Management. He is an Industry Fellow with Monash University, a past member of the Monash University Management Department Advisory Board, a past member of the Academic Board of the Australian Institute of Management (Victorian Branch), a Full Member of The World Association of Business Coaches, a Subscriber to the Australian Psychological Society Interest Group on Coaching Psychology, an Affiliate Member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology, a member of the Australian Coaching Industry Research Advisory Board, and a member of the Standards Australia working group that developed the national guidelines covering executive coaching.
He was a founding advisor to an ARC funded project studying the efficacy of executive coaching being carried out by senior academics at two Group of 8 Universities, is a co-author of two texts on leadership and executive coaching and the author of 2 articles on aspects of executive coaching.
He is a highly motivating public speaker and presenter.
