Angela is warm, engaging and has exceptional skills in analyzing the underlying causative factors beneath the myriad of challenges facing managers and leaders in any organizational setting.  She works with both individuals and teams to increase efficiencies, build on strengths and to assist them to reach their highest potential.

 

Angela’s impressive career has taken her across the world and she has been recognised for her creative approach to staff development, process reengineering and for her engaging, inclusive management style.

 

She has worked as a teacher librarian and as an academic, lecturing for 18 years in library and information management in both Tasmania and Victoria where she served a period as elected Head of both of her academic departments. In 1987, she was awarded the first Fellowship of the National Library of Canada where she developed an integrated staff development plan.  She holds a PhD. in training and staff development and has a deep understanding of industrial relations issues, information technology and, in general, the importance of placing people and their needs at the forefront of any strategic endeavours.

 

In recent years she has been employed by the University of Melbourne variously as the Director, Management Services, Director of the Library, and Director of Teaching, Learning and Research Support Department. In 2004, Angela became Deputy to the Vice-Principal Information and in 2007 Angela was appointed University Librarian. She is a Fellow of the Australian Library and Information Association.

 

She has recently worked internationally on strategic planning with the International Federation of Library Associations and brings her strengths in leadership development, service planning and delivery, performance measurement and program evaluation, advocacy and building strategic partnerships to her work as an Executive Empowerment Associate.
